2006 Presentations Now Available Online!

(Lincoln, NE) — Nebraska 4-H Curriculum presentations from 2006 are now available and free to download! Check out the Educator’s Corner on this website http://4hcurriculum.unl.edu/educators_corner.html and click on "Other Resources" to utilize these valuable tools today. Please feel free to adapt these slides to help teach people in your county, school, organization, etc. about the quality resources available from Nebraska 4-H. Extension Educators from Across the United States Discover Nebraska 4-H

(Lincoln, NE) — The month of October included two appearances by Nebraska 4-H at national Extension conventions. The National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) convention was held in Denver, Colorado (October 4-6, 2006). The curriculum booth in the exhibit hall was very well attended and there was standing-room only in the Intergenerational Explorations with Quilt Quest presentation delivered by a team of Nebraska Extension Educators. Nebraska 4-H Receives State Award for Healthy Lifestyle Promotion 

(Lincoln, NE) — Nebraska 4-H received the 2006 Nebraska Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NAHPERD) Service Award at the Nebraska/Iowa Joint State Conference in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on November 3. Service awards are given to laypersons, organizations or agencies who have demonstrated meritorious contributions, service and/or leadership that have significantly benefited the areas of health, physical education, recreation and/or dance within the state of Nebraska. The 4-H program was recognized for the development of the Fast Foods and YOUth in Motion curriculum, the Healthy Clubs Challenge event, and other activities that promote healthy lifestyles. Promoting Nebraska 4-H to Career and Technical Education Teachers 

(Lincoln, NE) — The Nebraska 4-H curriculum team wrapped up a busy year of promotion with a presentation at the Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) national convention in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 30, 2006. More than 5,000 teachers in areas such as Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Business, Trade & Industry, and Technology traveled to the Peach State to participate in the only professional development event dedicated to this entire field. Nebraska 4-H Curriculum represented at 97th Annual Conference of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences

(Lincoln, NE) — Michelle J. Garwood, Graduate Assistant for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln 4-H presented “Standards-Based Experiential Learning Resources for the FCS Classroom” on June 24, 2006 at the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) 97th Annual Conference, LifeSkills! Nebraska 4-H Curriculum Committee Celebrates Success and Plan for Future

(Gretna, NE)—Nebraska 4-H Curriculum has come a long way in just five years. To celebrate those successes and set the vision and mission for the next five years, the Curriculum Committee recently held a day long retreat at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Camp in Gretna.
